I am the husband to Stacy, who I have been passionately in love with for over 12 years. The father to Dylan (11), who is a leader and contemplates, Kayla (9), who is compassionate and merciful, and Aubry (7), who loves to have fun and enjoy life. As a family, our mission in life is follow Jesus at whatever the cost. In the fall of 2003 we moved back to our hometown to start a coffeehouse (Brewdaily’s Cafe) and youth center (DeKalb County Community Youth Center). The process of these two ventures came at a cost – relationships, finances, faith, worldview, etc. The journey has made us realize the importance of trusting God, even when there is seemingly no hope to continue moving forward.
The universal Church, the bride of Christ, is a great passion of mine. The rigors of the past few years have fanned my passion and gifts of working for the church. Over the past year, I struggled internally over how I am spending my time, gifts, skills, experiences, etc. I felt as though God was telling me it was time for me to sidestep my vision and grasp His. The only way I can explain, as corny as it sounds, is that I was born to lead, guide, encourage, and equip His church to help advance His kingdom here on earth. So, that is what I am doing. He opened the door for me (when I was looking elsewhere) that lead to this position at County Line.
I am the Community Life Pastor, which means I can do whatever I want (drink coffee, talk, play basketball, read, etc) and justify it as ministry. Well, not really, but I do oversee 3 areas of ministry. I help new people feel welcomed and become acclimated to the County Line family, oversee small groups, and connect people with ministry opportunities both inside and outside our church body.
I enjoy roasting and drinking coffee, playing and coaching basketball, working in the yard, and reading books on theology, the church and her history.
Hey Nathan,
I would still love to get together with you and encourage one . I pray that God will continue to lead and guide you as you follow Jesus.
Blessings,
Bob
Nathan,
Thank you for the time and thought invested into this site. I especially appreciate your thoughts on small groups and am hopeful this will become the “norm” in County Line’s small groups.
